Atlanta, Georgia… Saniyya Hunt, the nine-year-old CEO and chief creator of Sassy G nail polish will be honoring her Sassy Squad for joining her as she went into local senior centers and assisted living facilities to paint the nails of residents. The honors are set for June 2, 2019 in Douglasville, Georgia at the Vision Builders Event Center.
“I’m changing the world, one manicure at a time,” says Saniyya.
Her Sassy G line is low toxin, vegan-friendly, nail care system which includes a wide variety of vibrant nail paints, beautifully scented cuticle oils and a nail strengthening clear polish.
Saniyyah runs the business with her mom, Terri who is the Chief Operations Officer. She said that Saniyya’s mission is to spread kindness throughout the community because kindness increases happiness, slows the aging process, improves relationships, and boosts the immune system.
“She knows that it takes confidence to be kind,” said Terri. “Research shows that one of the best ways to increase self-confidence is to have well-manicured nails. This is why Saniyya created her company. Through her business she encourages young girls to be confident, healthy and poised through the care and keeping of their nails.”
Saniyyah also creates opportunities for girls to spread kindness and strengthen relationships through her service organization called The Sassy Squad Project. The Sassy Squad is a group of girls who provide free manicures to the elderly and mentally delayed residents of the community. Saniyya decided to begin The Sassy Squad Project when she discovered she loved the feel of her great-grandmother’s soft skin and Grandma “Tillie” loved to be touched. She began visiting nursing homes to paint the residents’ nails and eventually invited friends to go with her.
“I am working to create a beautiful world by encouraging and empowering others to be kind and confident,” said Saniyyah. “Through the work of The Sassy Squad Project we will be a group of confident girls making a huge impact on the world through simple acts of kindness.”
As a result of her outstanding service and leadership in the community, Saniyya has been recognized throughout her community as a leader and influencer. In 2018 she was nominated and named as a finalist for the Excel Youth Mentoring Institute for the 2019 Youth Change Maker Award.
Special guests of the dinner will include Monique Bratton, Process Improvement Analyst at The Coca-Cola Company, Yolanda Owens the Owner/Skin Care Chef at iwi Fresh Garden Day Spa. Tween dancing sensation McKenzie “MJ Dances” Lewis will perform and Dr. Steve Hunt is set to emcee.
